 « Go tell my brothers! » (Jn 20:15): Dominican women and evangelisation
This appeal of the Christ to Mary at the dawn of the resurrection was chosen as the theme for this fourth year of the novena as we prepare to celebrate the Jubilee of the Order. This year titled “Dominican Women and Preaching” invites us to place the announcement of the resurrection at the source of our mission in the Order.
New Dominican Cardinal
On January 6th, Pope Benedict announced the creation of 22 new cardinals; among them is Mgr Dominik Jaroslav Duka, O.P., Archbishop of Prague, Czech Republic. Dominik Duka was born on 26 April 1943 in Hradec Kralove. He joined the Dominican Order, making his temporary profession on January 6, 1969, and was ordained priest on the 22nd of June the next year.
New consultors for Social Communications
The Master of the Order at the next Synod of Bishops
From Nov. 23-25, the Master of the Order participated in the meeting of the Union of Superiors General which meets in Rome every November and May. At this meeting fr. Bruno delivered a paper addressing the role of the Mendicant Orders in the New Evangelization. In the course of this meeting the Superiors General elected ten members to represent them at the next Synod of Bishops on the New Evangelization. The Master was elected as one of those ten. The Synod will take place during the month of October, 2012.
New Vicar General for the General Vicariate of Puerto Rico
 On the 25th of November 2011 the Master of the Order, Bro Bruno Cadoré op, appointed Bro Tiberio Polanía Ramírez op, Vicar of the Master for the General Vicariate of the Holy Cross in Puerto Rico.
Son of the Province of St. Louis Bertrand in Colombia, Bro Tiberio was born on April 26, 1948. He made his first Profession on March 7, 1970, and was ordained priest on October 31, 1976.
