Dominicans at the 12th General Assembly of Bishops

9 Sept. 2008 (Rome) - Pope Benedict XVI has just appointed 32 Voting Members, 41 Experts and 37 Auditors for the 12th General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops, to be held Oct. 5-26 in the Vatican. The theme is "The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church."
Father Luc Devillers O.P., professor at the Ecole Biblique De Jerusalem and editor for the New Testament of the Revue Biblique, Israel, has been chosen one of the experts, while Sr. M. Viviana Ballarin O.P., superior general of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena, and president of the Union of Superiors Major of Italy (USMI) has been chosen as one of the Auditors.
